Ted Dansey Watercolours
I have drawn for as long as I care to remember. I love plein air painting and enjoy teaching and giving the occasional demonstration. My philosophy is Keep it Simple, learn to visualise and paint what you feel. Enough things can go wrong anyway! After leaving school in 1970 I started work as a ticketwriter before going on to study signwriting then Graphic design. After a time as a freelance signwriter I moved in to Graphic design and worked as Senior Designer, Illustrator and Creative Director within the Victorian State Government before being sought to head up the Design Department of a leading Media company. I took over the role of General Manager of the Victorian Artists Society in February 2001 and continue to take an active role in the Society after resigning the position in Feb. 2012. I have held 11 solo and 7 group exhibitions since 2000 along with many Rotary exhibitions. I was awarded the Victorian Artists Society’s coveted Artist of the Year Award in 2007 and made a Fellow of the Society in 2011.
